Day 1 - Depart USA. Your dream safari begins as you step aboard your flight.
Day 2 - Evening arrival Nairobi. Following baggage claim and customs/immigrations formalities clearance, meet your driver (look for a sign with your name) for transfer to your hotel. Overnight at THE STANLEY HOTEL with breakfast provided.
Day 3 - Following breakfast/check-out, transfer to Jomo Kenyetta International Airport for your flight to Kampala. Morning arrival. Following baggage claim and customs and immigrations formalities, meet your driver (look for a sign with your name) for transfer to Kibale Forest. Your safari will begin as you travel towards Fort Portal via the town of Mubende set in picturesque rolling hills. Continue on to the Kibale Forest, which offers 13 species of primates. Following check-in, relax or spend the remainder of your afternoon exploring the nearby Crater Lake. NDALI LODGE/MANTANA KIBALE overnight stay with all meals and game viewing activities included.
Day 4 - Following early morning breakfast, set out to track noisy chimps and other primates (such as the velvet monkey and red colobus) crashing around the high canopy of the forest, accompanied by a wide range of colorful birds squawking nearby. Following enjoyment of a packed lunch, end your day with a walk in the nearby Bigodi wetlands to see swamp birds and some of the community projects financed by eco-tourism. Day 5 - Following breakfast and check-out, transfer to Queen Elizabeth. This morning, you have a choice of either a day?s walk in the foothills of the Rwenzoris or driving straight to Queen Elizabeth. The game seen will depend on the season; the Kasenyi plains are good for lion and the Mweya peninsula for a variety of animals. Day 6 - Following breakfast, you will participate in an excursion to Kyambura gorge nearby to track the fast moving and elusive chimpanzees. Alternatively, you may go for a nature walk in Maramangambo Forest to see other primates and to visit the bat cave and blue lake. In the afternoon take a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel where the wildlife and a vast array of birds come to drink. Day 7 - Following breakfast, and check-out, set out for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Time permitting, go for a short stroll around your lodge or explore the nearby village. Bwindi is in South Western Uganda and has about 300 mountain gorillas, and is also rich in other primates, unusual bird and butterfly species. Day 8 - Following an early breakfast, set out for your Gorilla Trek. Tracking the gorilla through the misty forests requires lots of patience and stamina, often walking for hours in the mud and wet. Finally meeting them in the undergrowth is an inspiring moment. The gorilla can only survive by increased conservation efforts. Return to your lodge late afternoon. Day 9 - Following breakfast and check-out, drive back to Kampala with packed lunches en-route. Afternoon check-in for your flight to Nairobi with continuing connections to USA.
